Juneah Kadver
Juneah Kadver is the daughter of Virna, Angel of Eclipse, and his wife Yifang, Deity of Darkness. She is the twin sister of Jemma Tsukha. She was raised by Fellin Kadver out in the countryside of New Dublin, before travelling to Njukalli and meeting Jemma and Rilta.
Appearance
Juneah is described as neat and tidy, hair always put up out of the way for fear of it getting tangled in her lamp. She makes her own fabric from scratch, often travelling all the way to the closest city just to buy fancy silk thread and velvet pile for her dresses and corsets.
Her eyes are naturally violet from her lineage, but since childhood they've taken on a rather pretty pearlescent sheen in the right light, especially under the glow of her lamp. Despite this she makes every effort to cover them with hair or a veil when in public, very much able to feel the stares.
Similarly violet is her halo, a small eye-motif showing the halfway point between her childhood halo and the concerningly strong magic she picks up as she ages. Unlike almost any other lineage halo, Juneah's and Jemma's don't match in the manifested image due to their unique creation, and this is a very large part of why it takes way too long for them to trust each other after meeting.
Despite Fellin not being her biological father, Juneah looks quite a lot like him if by accident, especially with the matching umtameable white hair. Juneah spends at least four hours a day fighting her hair, not made any better by the fact that just because she's immune to the -40°c temperatures on the surface, doesn't mean her hair is.
She's always carrying her ultraviolet lamp; a homemade lantern attached to a pole that gives off a significant amount of UV radiation, as well as enough purple light to dazzle observers. Since Juneah's only blind in the visible spectrum, she and Fellin came up with the lamp as a way to let her be more independent, and by the setting of the main story she's so used to seeing with the lamp that at times it's hard to tell she's blind at all.
Personality
Like her adoptive father, Juneah's quiet and reserved, not caring much for social interaction and perfectly happy to live isolated in the countryside. Her idea of acceptable behaviour is rooted in eighteenth-century manners, and to a lot of contemporary folk she comes off as huffy and rude.
To her, it's far more important to show strength and courage than to simply talk about it, and by the time she's an adult, that mindset ends up boiled down to “courage = strength”. This leads to her choosing to resolve issues with violence or other drastic action ahead of talking something over or looking for an alternative, something heavily contrasted with her sister's (almost) entirely pacifistic behaviour.
Part of this is also due to the little social interaction she has had in the city, with strangers assuming she's feeble and helpless due to being blind even while she claims otherwise.
Backstory
Jemma and Juneah were born from the moons of Virna's realm, Feizhas, after Tye partially enthralled Virna and tore through the magic holding the realm together. The twins were seperated as newborns and brought down to earth by Corcruil to keep them safe from the war. Jemma was placed with Rilta Shaguda at Lygari's order, whilst Juneah went to live with Corcruil's old friend Fellin. Earth was considered the safest place to hide the twins due to Ivory's Stratosphere Curse, which made the surface almost impenetrable to attacks by Tye's Madaíc magic.
Fellin had never raised a child to adulthood before, so it took him a while to figure out what he was doing, especially as a single father. Their relationship comes off as terse and cold to strangers, almost like mere friends, but Fellin does adore her even through his steeled emotions. Juneah's way of showing emotions through actions rather than speech mimics Fellin's way of parenting,
Juneah develops a passion for tailoring and weaving, making most of her own clothing after Fellin builds her a custom flying shuttle loom that she teaches herself to use blind. All of her outfits are elaborate, with raised embroidery in magic-reflecting threads that she can both feel and see. Even for the most mundane tasks she'll dress to the nines, not far unlike her sister.
